Friday evening, or “erev shabbes” is a uniquely special time in jewish life. According to the Torah, the Creator rested on the 7th day, then observed Creation and found it to be good. For millennia, Jews throughout the world have observed the commandment to refrain from all toil and trouble once a week, beginning at sundown on Friday, in order to focus on the most important things in life: love, family, friends, peace, health and personal growth. A huge repertoire of songs and melodies celebrate shabbes, together with food, wine and…schnapps.
You are all invited to this evening led by Miriam Camerini with Uri Schreter!
A gut shabbes!
After dinner, the evening opens up to a jam session:
bring your instrument, join in, and play Klezmer together – completely relaxed and open to everyone who wants to participate or simply listen. Lomir shpiln Klezmer
