About the event

Our first Khanukah Concert at YUNG Yidish WIEN performed by Anna Rákóczy on the flute and Anastasia Razvalyaeva on the harp!

At the centre of this evening’s program are rarely played

classical pieces by Fauré, Ravel and Debussy, inspired by Jewish

prayer and Jewish melodies. Yiddish and Sephardic folk music, the latter collected by Alberto Hemsi and Manuel de Falla, and Hebrew and Yiddish poetry (in translation) will punctuate the flow.

These sometimes melancholy and often virtuosic pieces

together with the lyrical poems set the tone for this year’s YUNG YiDiSH WIEN Khanukah concert.
